December 3, 2017 — Congratulations, Magic, on advancing to the Championship Game of the U15 North Pole division of the EDP Winter Classic.
The Magic traveled to Bordentown, NJ the first weekend in December to face four quality New Jersey opponents. Following two Saturday clean sheets including a 0-0 draw against Jackson SC Tsunami and a 4-0 victory over Jersey Knights SC Rage, play resumed Sunday with the Magic needing a win against Twin County SA Fury 2003 to advance. After trailing 0-1 at halftime, the Magic stormed back to score three goals in the second half to punch a ticket to the finals. In the finals, the Magic battled a very good Maple Shade SC Daredevils 03 Elite team but came up just short 3-1. Maple Shade had not surrendered a single goal in their three previous tournament games.
Great weekend of play, Magic! More hardware to add to the collection!
September 3, 2017 — Congratulations, Magic, on winning the U15 Maroon division of the 30th Annual Al Perlini Memorial Tournament.
The Magic won their second straight Al Perlini championship in convincing fashion over Labor Day weekend. Over a span of four games, the Magic surrendered just two goals en route to a record of three wins and one draw. In the first match of the day, the Magic finished with a 0-0 draw against Fairmount United 2003 Girls. A convincing 6-0 win over Warrington Synergy, a late goal and subsequent 3-2 win over ENCO ’03 Girls, and a hard fought 1-0 win over Quakertown Strikers Strong resulted in a Magic championship by a wide margin of points.
Congratulations on a great end to the summer tournament season!
November 20, 2016 — CHAMPIONS! Congratulations, Magic, on winning the U14 Blue division of the 4th Annual CRUSA/FC Bucks Adidas Classic in absolutely thrilling style: a 1-1 (4-3) PK shootout over St. Thomas More Lunachix!
The Magic entered Sunday having drawn their two Saturday matches: 2-2 against eventual finals opponent St. Thomas More, and 0-0 against YMS Storm. The frigid, blustery weather on Sunday morning had no impact on the Magics offense, as they uncorked six goals against East Brunswick SC Synergy in a 6-1 win, sealing their ticket to the final.
In the afternoon final, Nene Mokonchu opened up the scoring for the Magic, knocking home a corner kick. Their 1- 0 halftime lead was short-lived, however, as the Lunachix found the equalizer and drew even.
Regular time ended with the teams locked in a 1-1 draw, sending the game straight to penalties! Ruby Murray, Jessica Lineen, and Sarah Kenwood all found the back of the net with their kicks, while GK Sofia Lattanze stopped two—yes, TWO—St. Thomas More PKs to give the Magic a chance to win with their final kick. Abby Lanning stepped to the spot and increased the drama to heart attack levels by slamming her penalty off the right post...and IN! Magic win!!
What a thrilling win, Magic! Way to bring home the hardware!
November 13, 2016 — Congratulations to our U14 Magic girls on their hard-fought PAGS Division 2 finals match against FC Providence today. They came up short, 2-1, but owned possession for the better part of the game and truly exemplified what Methacton United soccer is really about.
Great work on a great season, girls! You represent our club well!
October 12, 2015 — Champions again! Congrats to our U12 Magic girls on their second straight tournament win, this time on the shores of Stone Harbor, NJ at the 23rd Annual George Pratt Memorial Invitational Soccer Tournament. The girls swept their way through four games by a combined margin of 22‑5, capturing the crown for the top division.
On a cool and breezy Saturday morning, the Magic took down the Hereford (MD) Storm Runners 8-1, then outlasted the Peninsula (NJ) Regal Eagles 4-2 in a physical and hard fought contest.
Sunday proved to be a beautiful fall day at the shore. In the morning, the girls dispatched local rivals Phoenixville Fire, then entered their afternoon match against the Manalapan (NJ) Blast needing just a single goal to secure the championship.
With an early strike in the 5th minute, the Magic locked up the championship and cruised to a 4-2 championship celebration on the beach!
Congratulations on a great weekend, girls! We look forward to your adventures at Hempfield this fall!
September 5, 2015 — Champions! congratulations, Magic! Our U12 girls won all three of their games, successfully defending their title and capturing the top 8v8 bracket at this years one-day Deep Run Labor Day Tournament.
On an absolutely perfect day for soccer, the Magic opened with a dominating-everywhere-but-the-scoresheet 1-0 victory over FC Providence Thunder, followed with a down-to-the-wire 2-1 win over Patriot FC Red Thunder, then cruised to the championship with a 4-1 win over Lower Macungie YA Lower Mac Blue.
After finished second the previous two weekends, it was great to finally come out on top! Congratulations on a great weekend, girls!
May 23, 2015 — Two girls from our U12 Magic team got to meet and train with Morgan Brian (@moebrian) and Julie Johnston (@_juliejohnston_) of the US Womens National Team! Both girls are part of a trio from the Magic team that were selected for the Philadelphia Unions Summer Select U11 girls team.
Were all jealous! Bring us home another World Cup!
May 2, 2015 — The Magics road to the EPYSA Challenge Cup was cut short today when they lost a hard fought, very physical game against Lighthouse Legends, 1-0.
Lighthouses lone goal came midway through the first half on a long ball over the top that took a flukey bounce off the hard turf and ended up in the back of the net. Both teams had several chances throughout the rest of the game, but were unable to convert.
Their championship run may have ended shy of their goal, but the girls put forth an amazing effort over the last month and the entire club is proud of their accomplishment! We cant wait to see what the fall season brings!
April 26, 2015 — In an overtime 4-1 thriller, our U11 Magic girls won their quarterfinal match over Reading Rage Real and advanced to the semifinals of the EPYSA Challenge Cup.
Although they couldnt convert on a number of chances in regulation, the girls broke through in a very big way in the overtime periods, scoring three quick goals to lock up the win and a ticket to the semifinals. Be sure to cheer on the Magic next weekend as they take on Lighthouse Legends for a trip to the final!
